TADKA MAGGI

This recipe was discovered by my husband when he was in Australia. Maggi was the quickest and the easiest food to make for him but eating in the same old way, bored him and he accidently just tried his hand in putting other masalas with the maggi masala. And what do you know…it turned out so tasty that even till date, whenever we make maggi at home, its always with this extra something. Presenting the healthy maggi like never before.

INGREDIENTS (serves 1)

Maggi – 1 pkt.

Water – 1 ½ cup ( 2 cups if with vegetables)

Assorted veggies (as per choice) can be beans/onions/tomato/carrots or capsicum.

Ghee- 1 tsp

Maggi masala

Turmeric powder (haldi)- ½ tsp

Mango powder – ½ tsp

Corander powder- ½ tsp

Garam masala- ½ tsp

Salt- ½ tsp

Cumin seeds

Cumin powder- ½ tsp

Butter

 METHOD

 

1.       Heat the ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.

2.       If adding veggies, add them after the cumin seeds become brown, and sauté for 30 sec.

3.       Else, add water and all the other ingredients, and bring to a boil.

4.       Once the water boils, add maggi to it and let it simmer until it has some water left behind. Dnt completely dry the maggi.

5.       Take it off the stove and add a lump of butter.

6.       TADKA MAGGI is ready.

 

Tips:  For Sambhar Maggi, follow the same procedure and instead of the tadka,  add 1 tsp sambhar powder along to the maggi masala. It tastes really yum….
